Immersive Strindberg? You must be crazy...OR DREAMING!

Aloha, culture vultures!  Just finished up an immersive theatre adaptation of August Strindberg's "A Dream Play" entitled "...Or Dreaming" and it was quite the surreal experience!  I played a grungy, vaudevillian Coal Hauler and the Dean of Law (who also happened to be a ventriloquist dummy, naturally).  It was a wonderfully ambitious project for the brand new Pariah Theatre Company and was well received by audiences.  I'd love to see more chances taken in local Boston theatre like this! A rave review from a local paper can be found here and an article on the production from the Boston Globe is here . Below is a very nice promo video made for the show as well.  Happy Holidays!

2012, we hardly knew ye!

Well, the year is almost at an end, and tumbleweeds are rolling through the ol' blog.  Thought I'd chime in with a little retrospecticus of some past shows.  But I'll start with an upcoming project!
I'll be appearing with the brand new Pariah Theatre Company in it's inaugural performance of "...Or Dreaming" an immersive theatre style adaptation of August Strindberg's "A Dream Play".  It runs December 7-16 in Quincy MA.  Just click the theatre company link for more info!

Now on to previous projects!  This past summer, I had the pleasure of reprising my role as the dastardly General Manager of the Month in the ever-popular "T:  Am MBTA Musical".  This time, instead of the cozy ImprovBoston stage, it was presented in Harvard Square's sprawling Club Oberon.  A splendid time was had by all, and audiences had the misfortune of seeing my glowering mug displayed on a giant screen.  A radio interview with the production team on WGBH can be heard here (& you may even hear me warble a few tunes from the cast recording on it...), and here is a review of the show!

In April, I enjoyed performing once again in a favorite show of mine, "The Fantasticks" with Fiddlehead Theatre.  I played Bellomy, the girls father, & a review can be found here!

I'm also currently a tour guide/actor with the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, portraying stalwart Son of Liberty John Crane, as well as a regular cast member with Mystery Cafe Dinner Theatre.  Happy Holidays to all, & see ya next year!

Of Radishes and Revolution.

Welcome back! All sorts of fun doin's a-transpirin' in 2012 already! I've recently started rehearsals for THE FANTASTICKS which will be playing Fiddlehead Theatre in Dedham MA April 13-29 2012. Info can be found HERE. I'll be playing Bellomy, the girl's father. I've always loved the show, and am looking forward to getting another crack at it (I played Mortimer in another production a few years ago)!

In other exciting news, I've recently been offered a full-time acting position with the brand new BOSTON TEA PARTY SHIPS AND MUSEUM which is opening this June. In addition to being in on the ground floor of a major new Boston landmark (that has to do with one of the most important events in our nation's history, no less), it's also great to have a steady full time acting job as well! Huzzah!

But still in matters vegetable, animal and mineral...

"The biggest scene stealer of this show is Ray O'Hare as the Major-General. His version of "I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General" is perfect as he annunciates every word distinctly so you can understand every comic moment of it." -Theatre Mirror

Well, Pirates has come and gone, and a first-rate time was has by all. Here are a few reviews of the show:

-Theatre Mirror Reviews

Happy Holidays to all, see you in 2012 for more oh-so-exciting installments!

Yes, yes I am a Major-General!

I'll be playing Major-General Stanley in one of my favorite shows, "The Pirates of Penzance" with the Fiddlehead Theatre Company in Dedham MA, opening this Friday December 9th and running through December 18th. Check it out, won't you?
Here's more info:

Don’t Miss Fiddlehead’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular comic opera, Pirates of Penzance. Wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE spins an hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.

December 9,10,11,15,16,17,18-Thursday at 7:30, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm.

Ticket Prices-$25 Adults, $22 for children and seniors.

To order call 781-329-1901, or to order tickets online please click on this link: www.mktix.com/fhtc

All performances take place at 619 High St. Dedham, a vintage playhouse (white church between The District Court and the Post Office)

MBT-Yay!

I'm back! The page is still under construction, and even this particular post is a few months late, but I thought I'd at least venture to make a post about recent-ish endeavors before I forget about them completely!

This past July, I got back into ye olde musical theatre scene after a 2 year hiatus in the wonderful original show "T: An MBTA Musical" with ImprovBoston. It was a great experience all around, and the complete run was sold out. Hopefully the rumblings of a revival sometime next year will pan out. One of the many positive reviews can be found here.

And that's not all! I'll also be appearing (once again!) as Major-General Stanley in "The Pirates of Penzance" this December with Fiddlehead Theatre in Dedham MA.

Stay tuned...

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!

Well, looks like I'm one of the last people on the planet to actually make a bliggity blog, but here I am! I'll most likely mainly be using this bad boy for updating acting/art projects, but who knows what hilarity may ensue!

Acting-wise, currrent regular ongoing gigs include:

Gadding about graveyards at night as a "Ghost Host" with Ghost Gravestones Frightseeing Tours of Boston. http://www.ghostsandgravestones.com/

And occasionally playing foolish characters whilst serving you stuffed chicken with the Mystery Cafe Dinner Theater in Boston. http://www.mysterycafe.com/

Let the tomfoolery begin!
